BACKGROUND

Inspired by the “Rêve Vert” or “Green Dreams” of 19th century European Absinthe culture and the Decadent art movement that visualized them. Perfumers Etienne Chevreuil and Rudolf Komodo met in Prague ( currently Czech Republic ) in 1898 and discovered a passion for Absinthe through the community of Czech Artists they encountered. 

Chevreuil and Komodo first experienced the “Zelený sen” or “Green Dream” in Czech at the the MANES group’s February 5th, 1898 exhibition at the TOPIC Salon in downtown Prague.

The Perfumers followed up their extensive study of the aromatic qualities of Absinthe in Prague with frequent visits to local Greenpoint, Brooklyn Absinthe makers in their olfactory interpretation of the elixer.
